The Jewish calendar is different from the Christian calendar. It is based upon the moon cycle, as opposed to the Christian calendar; witch is based upon the sun cycle.
Originally, the Jewish calendar was used by Jews on a daily basis, though by the conquest of Jerusalem by Pompey in 63 BCE, Jews began using the imperial civil calendar also. And until this they, most of the Jewish people use the Christian calendar, in addition to the Jewish calendar.
Because of the counting method difference between the Christian calendar and the Jewish calendar, there will always be missing days in the Jewish calendar, compared with the Christian one.
