Krav Maga T-Shirt – What is Krav Maga?

 

Krav Maga is a Hebrew name meaning hand to hand combat. It is a style of fighting developed by Imi Lichtenfield from the combinations of street fighting, wrestling and grappling in the 1930s. When he went onto to become IDF the system was then developed into the fighting technique we now know as Krav Maga. What began as a way of addressing the violence and defending the Jewish people who were living in Bratislava has now exploded onto the major fighting circuit and is fully recognized and respected Martial Arts training and fighting program. There is one main symbol that represents this combat style and this symbol is most commonly seen on Krav Maga T-shirt worn by more people than you could possibly realize and not just on men but also on women.

It is one of the only martial arts where no uniform as such is worn with students being encouraged to wear loose fitting pants and  T-shirt with footwear (also very uncommon). 

 

The main techniques learnt in Krav Maga consist of counter attacking before an attack is made as such, to target certain areas of the body (vunerable points such as groin, knees and the use of weapons), how to neutralize an opponent as quick as possible to prevent further attacks and how to be fully aware of their surroundings at all times.
